Spring Blizzard - 2005

We went to bed on Saturday night having heard about this so-called blizzard that was coming. Well, even when I woke up around 6 on Sunday morning things were fairly calm, some snow and ice, but no blizzard. We turned on the TV and there wasn't too much information about closings, particularly churches but the weather and the closings quickly changed. By mid-morning the storm was in full force and we were effectively stranded at home.

All in all it was quite fun and harmless. We did hear the occasional story about folks getting stranded at some out of the way town but it was actually an enjoyable storm. Our family spent the day playing cards (Phase 10), watching home movies and just enjoying each others company. The only real disappointment was the college trip that Brandon and I had planned to Fort Collins. The original plan was to head to Fort Collins on Sunday and visit the school (Colorado State) on Monday. Unfortunately the interstates, and most roads, were shut down on Sunday and early Monday so we were forced to re-schedule.

I actually took quite abit more photos but with the snow blowing as much as it did, most did not turn out to well due to snow/ice on our windows.
