5th Grade "Graduation"

Definitely a happy occasion but a little sad for me. Our youngest has completed elementary school and so closes another chapter in our lives. We very much enjoyed Antelope Trails (as parents) and the teachers there. School events such as school dances, fund raisers, etc. were always a treat. I somehow feel Middle and High School won't be quite the same.

Memorial Day Weekend - 2003

We planned a multi-family campout at the Crazy Horse campground in Buena Vista, Colorado over Memorial Day weekend, 2003. Becky and I (mostly her) invited a number of families from our church and coordindated group meals, outings, etc. I had went down a day early to do some hiking (see hikecolorado.blogspot.com) and joined up with everyone at the campground on Friday afternoon.

We spent Friday getting our campsites squared away and letting the kids play. We spent the weekend enjoying the campground, eating meals together, letting the kids go horseback riding and swimming.

On Monday we all broke camp and headed home. Since Becky and I had both driven, I decided to go back home a slightly different route in order to scout another 14er. Jacob came with me and we stopped at Fairplay I headed up the route towards Kite Lake. Because of snow we only got up the road about 1 mile and had to turn back.
